polycarbonate sheets are manufactured with polycarbonate resin as the main raw material. polycarbonate sheets entered the building decoration material market rapidly in the mid-1980s. Compared with laminated glass, wired glass, tempered glass, and hollow glass, they are more lightweight, weather-resistant, super strong, flame-retardant, and sound-insulating. Due to the unique high quality of polycarbonate sheets, they are generally recognized by architectural design, decoration engineering, environmental engineering, and advertising industries.
If we take a square sunlight sheet (equal length and width) supported by a steel frame on all four sides and apply a certain type of load, this will cause the sunlight sheet to deflect. Now, let's keep these same connection parameters and increase the length of the sheet and then apply a load to obtain the same deflection as before. We find that the load required to achieve the same deflection will gradually decrease until a certain asymptotic sheet length. Once this asymptotic sheet length is exceeded, there is no need to change the load level to achieve the original deflection level.
Therefore, we can conclude that when a certain sunlight sheet length is exceeded, the purlins supporting the sheet along its width do not contribute to the bending resistance of the sheet and are therefore unnecessary. In these cases, we can say that these solar panels perform as if they were attached to the construction in an edge/edge configuration.
